I am so
pleased we were able to do so much in our marriage. Warren was so interested
in everything, so adventurous, and loved meeting and talking to everyone.
He had a good sense of humor, and I always felt so safe with him. He
handled the reservations, tickets and seemed to do everything with such
ease! It was a real eye-opener for me to realize how much he really
did for me that I now have to do for myself.
In 1990 after visiting Judy and Duff we went on to the Rose Bowl Game.
Everything worked out so well as Warren had contacted someone he knew
and we had an apartment to stay in and wonderful seats on some church
property with coffee and sweets available.
Another highlight was the Graham family reunion in Houston Woods, Indiana.
Sue had just returned from her mission trip in Kenya. Bill and Cathy,
Pete, Sue and Anne were able to be with us for this and all had such
a great time. John and Paula Koven, Jim and Peggy, Barbara, Frenchy,
Kathy and Jack Samson, Jean and Herb with Barbara and Bruce were all
there. A time to be together with Warren’s family. Each family
wore a different color t-shirt. Mother wore a purple one. John and Paula
did a great job in organizing this.
I have attended two elder hostels. The first one was at Trout Village,
Mo. Vernie Bedard and I went and roomed together. It was wonderful.
The subjects were sketching, big bands, and the history of people in
the Ozarks. The second elder hostel was in Wisconsin and the subject
was watercolor painting. I went with Margaret Steele and enjoyed it
so much. The food was wonderful at both and it was fun to meet people.
Anne and Dave picked me up at this one and then I stayed with them for
a week.
