Letter from Ginny

Judy stayed for a week and along with packing we found time for lunch out, trips to the mall and time to visit. One morning found her jogging and she slipped on ice breaking a bone in her ankle so it was time to slow down, relax and heal. She is just now starting to use her walking cast and put one crutch aside.

Sue was here for a week and again we packed along with fun times too. How she managed to farm out her three for a week I’ll never know, but we loved being together and Doug got home early enough to help out at the other end.

Bill took time while he was here to study the situation in Warren’s study, working with all the financial issues: Social Security, pension, policies, etc. All of the children have been helpful acquainting me with the bank, paying of bills, etc.

Pete is here and has been such a source of strength and help. I am so fortunate to have Pete and Dottie nearby and they have been so great. Miranda and Matthew give me such joy and I am very lucky to be able to see them often. Miranda climbed up into my lap one day and said, “Granny, will you be alright alone?” She was only three. Pete heard her and came out of Warren’s study, we just looked at each other.

My bag is packed, and Saturday I will fly to Fort Meyers and Martha and Harold Anschuetz will meet me and I will stay until Tuesday. They are Anne’s in-laws and good friends of mine. Paul and Mary will pick me up Tuesday. They live in Naples. Both have lovely condos on golf courses. I am looking forward to warmer days and poolside.

Thank you for your notes of encouragement.

Paul and Mary were unable to attend Warren’s service. They tried so hard but had to turn back because of the severe storm. Many wanted to come from Western Springs too, but the storm brought everything to a stand still for a while. Jean and Herb came from New Jersey.
